Relics of St. Padre Pio, a Capuchin priest who bore the stigmata of Jesus, will be on public display at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist on Thursday, September 21, 2017 as part of the tour which corresponds to the 130th anniversary of the Italian-born saint’s birth. Relics part of this tour include: Saint Pio’s glove, Saint Pio’s crusts of the wounds; Cott-gauze with Saint Pio’s blood stains; a lock of hair; Saint Pio’s mantle; Saint Pio’s handkerchief soaked with his sweat hours before he died.
The Cathedral will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. for the veneration of the relics. Solemn Mass will be celebrated at 5:15 pm with The Most Rev. Jeffrey R. Haines, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and Rector & Pastor of the Cathedral, celebrant. The Cathedral has no parking lot, so parking is at metered parking spaces or nearby parking structures.
